Program Curriculum & Training
The Leadership Program has developed several curricula designed around the model of leadership. With a thru-line of Leadership, our curriculum features experiential learning lessons in numerous key component areas, including "self-concept," "effective communication," "teambuilding," "civic and social awareness," and others designed to develop individual and diverse leadership styles. We regularly update our lessons and teaching materials, and our curriculum team is developing new program manuals, in addition to our current offerings:
- Violence Prevention Project Manuals (Elementary, Middle & High School)
- After School Project Manuals (Elementary, Middle & High School)
- Advisory Curricula Manuals (Elementary, Middle & High School)
- Character Education Manuals (Elementary, Middle & High School)
- Organizational and Study Skills Manuals (Elementary, Middle & High School)
While all program areas adhere to our curriculum, much of the success of our organization is a result of an intensive training regimen for all our staff and trainers helping our staff to adapt to the needs of each class and student. Our training department director is a nationally-recognized facilitator who has been featured at several national after-school conferences throughout the United States. In recognition of the challenges trainers face upon entering a school, we focus on developing their ability to make strong connections with students and administrators: this has made us one of the most effective youth development organizations for urban youth.
